Rose Petal Deer 100 : Day 1 ♡ (100日ハンドメイド)

Starting today, I`ve decided to challenge myself of a drawing a day for the next 100 days of something cute and magical, hopefully to bring a smile, love and magic to people`s day!  Day one begins with this retro giraffe baby! Lots of love x x x

Cherry Blossom World Part 1 : Yoyogi, Shibuya, Daikanyama & Nakameguro ♡

Any of you who in any way follow me on instagram (much more frequent than here), will know there are few things (apart from deer and shiny glittery kawaii things of course) that I love more than Sakura, Japan in Sakura season really is something else, and never fails to lift my spirits and make me feel all kinds of magic, this year it was particularly needed after I lost my job and Tokyo can be such an overwhelming crazy harsh place at times. However when the flowers are blooming and everyone gets together for `hanami` flower picnics, and the rivers are lit up with blooms in some of my favourite neighbourhoods, its as if for a few short weeks communities and kind nature are drawn out from every corner, every park or public space is full of people happy to mingle and enjoy the sight of these magical pink flowers, its definitely one of the things I`d miss the most if I move. My flowery few weeks will need a few posts, but heres the first 

Instants of the first hanami with some friends & fun in yoyogi park, yoyogi is probably one of the busiest hanami spots but always super fun,

It was kind of overcast and going dark but you get the sense of the blossoms, and drinking sake from my lunch jar as I didn't have a glass haha,

In one of my absolute favourite places Nakameguro, the blossoms line the river and are just incredible, particularly at night when they are all a lit up with a rosey pink glow..

& my new favourite toy, little film camera `sakura cam`, its been ages since I did any 35mm film so can`t wait to see the results!

Autumnal vibes 秋の気持ち ♡

Finally I am feeling so much better, & coupled with this I finally have learnt to be a little better at technology (& fixed my phone) so will be posting much more frequently. After what feels like literally the longest summer ever, the past week or so has seen a subsequent sudden change in temperature & some much more Autumal vibes, the colours around at the moment are deep lush greens, ochre leaves and blue skies, I have found a new found love for ochre & burnt orange colours & have spent the past few weeks enjoying more normal temperatures, exploring and trying some new tasty japanese vegan autumnal foods! Here`s a little update...

All you can eat vegan buffet in one of my absolute favourite Tokyo haunts ( I had to ask multiple times about some of the foods vegan-nature - mind blown by the ingredient / taste combo`s!)

I`m actually thinking of creating a vegan / art guide to Tokyo to sell once I reopen my etsy with all the things I`ve been working on, would any of you be interested?

Arashiyama ♡

Finally getting round to my post on this little gem of a place, and living on the memories! Arashiyama was super gorgeous, mainly for the amount of easily accessible nature, the bamboo forest made me feel like I`d stepped back into another world & so at peace, and the place itself with the river running through and the steps up the mountainside to the monkey park at the top was so beautiful, definitely another one of those eye opening spots that remind me how much I love Japan...

Hiroshima Deer heaven in Miyajima forest ♡ 宮島天国 - 鹿や山に逃げます

In Golden Week we took our first trip together since living in Japan to the other side of the island and the magical Hiroshima, it was completely the opposite of Tokyo and everything I dream`t of and more, it was so calm and beautiful and felt amazing to be completely in nature. Hiroshima itself has a super peaceful vibe, and considering everything thats happened there I found the people and the city itself to have some really interesting creative areas and cafes (more about that later), we enjoyed exploring and wondering around the tiny side streets and crossing the rivers (its a place divided by so much water and is right on the coast - our hotel overlooked the ocean from almost every angle and islands stretched deep into the sunset, the most beautiful of these islands was Miyajima, world heritage and famous for its beautiful red shrine and huge forest that engulfs the island. We spent my favourite day exploring the island, climbing Mount Misen - a big peak on the island surrounded by forest and deer clambering everywhere (as you can imagine I couldn`t cope!) Heres some of my favourite memories from the day (my cameras once again jam packed full of deer again ahhhhhh!!!)♡
