Cateriam Cat Cafe ♡

A few weeks back I went to Cateriam with my friend Nat who was visiting from England - it's a cat cafe near where I live in Shimokita, it was my second time to visit a cat cafe, and this one was definitely much better than the big Shinjuku one I visited last time. It's pretty small and both the owners and the cats are super lovely! - and you are allowed to cuddle them (bonus!). There were maybe 20 different cats, my favourite was a ridiculously white fluffy one who I was told was 'danger cat' as he likes to nip unsuspecting visitors haha, I had a good cuddle with him though! Here's a few photos of some cat brilliance ♡

This little guy was just ridiculous, he kept pulling the best faces ♡

and this cheeky boy insisted on sitting next to the sink you have to wash your hands in, and kept trying to drink from the taps ♡

Hope you like! Lots of love! x x x x

お花見 Cherry Blossom in Yoyogi Koen / 代々木公園の桜 ♡

Spring really is such an incredible season here in Tokyo, spring has well and truly sprung and there are sooooo many flowers and blossoms blooming everywhere! - it's like a sea of white and pink (you can imagine my excitement!!).
On Monday we ventured to Yoyogi Park on our day off together for Hanami (お花見) (cherry blossom viewing and drinking) in the sunshine! It was such a beautiful day and the sky was super blue! - The blossom's looked so beautiful in their full bloom as well, Here's a few photos ♡

Park Hyatt, Tokyo ♡

On Sunday evening after work for my birthday present Craig took me to one of our favourite places - The Park Hyatt New York Grill Bar on the 52nd floor of the Park Hyatt Hotel in Shinjuku (The bar in Lost in Translation) and we had a table for the night watching the jazz band with delicious food and drinks! It really is one of the most perfect places, the view is insane, the entire Tokyo skyline right below you, and the bar itself is so dreamy and moody, besides just pretending we were Scarlett and Bill for the night, ah can't wait to return again one day!

Hendricks, Elderflower syrup and cucumber juice special cocktail, I also had a sakura, sake and cranberry pink one ahhh! ♡

Art Cafe Muse Shibuya ♡

New favourite discovery was this little gem, hidden away behind a load of teensy record shops lining the backstreets of Shibuya and a few floors up a little building, it was so cute & pretty! - perfect for spending a few hours with a nice drink and my sketchbook. There were cute drinks for couples especially for valentines day, swinging window seats with vines all around, fairy lights & chandeliers shining on everything and art all over the place! ♡ all over the walls and lots of individual artists homemade wares by the door that you could buy, definitely will be going back! ♡

Junie Moon & Curly Collective in Daikanyama ♡

Daikanyama is one of my absolute favourite places to go in Tokyo, there are so many beautiful shops, hidden galleries and nice window displays, and an abundance of creativity and cuteness ♡ Two of my favourites are Junie Moon (The amazing Blythe Store - which I love just going to see their window displays and shop decoration which frequently changes ♡) and Curly Collective, a super cute pink filled fabric and craft store full of cuteness! I'm sure I'll be posting much more on Daikanyama but here's a few snaps around Daikanyama filled with Blythe and kawaii goodness:

Tokyo Adventurings: Tokujin Yoshioaka at the Museum of Contemporary Art ♡

Going to try & up to date with lots of adventuring's so far (so expect lots of posts over the next week! One of the first places we visited was the Museum of Contemporary Art for the absolutely incredible Tokujin Yoshioaka's exhibition, in a sleepy little suburb called Kiyusumi-Shirakawa:
The Museum itself was stunning enough with its many structures and shapes made out of glass and flowing water features around the front, just a spectacle for reflecting the beautiful sunlight of the day into lots of fragments of beautiful rainbow colour - making it perfect for the exhibition.

If your not familiar with Yoshioaka's sculpture & art, I can't recommend it enough, it's absolutely magical, in 'Crystallize' the focus was all on Crystal and pieces of art he'd made from intense amounts of crystal, unfortunately only two rooms in the exhibition allowed photography so the majority of my photographs are from outside/ the initial rooms, but my favourite was a piece entitled 'Swan Lake' where 3 facing walls had huge pieces of crystal and centralised was a huge pool with flowing water over what appeared growing crystal rocks, and Swan Lake music playing full blast ♡

In the rooms you could take photographs, the striking factor over the whole exhibition was the way that light was captured by the crystal or glass used, and the colours and shapes that it reflected - an incredible spectrum of pastel rainbow ♡

Hope everyones having lovely weeks! Be sure to have a search for Yoshioaka's work - you'll be blown away! ♡

2014: Tokyo Adventuring begins ♡

So, on the 2nd January me and Craig changed our whole lives by moving across the world to try and fulfil creative dreams and live in our favourite city, Tokyo. It already feels like such a whirlwind, so many inspiring things and pretty places, and lovely people! We've moved into our little flat on the 11th floor of a big building in Meidaimae, a cute little area where theres lots of university's and cheap food and drink places (yet to explore properly!).  I've decided I'm going to adjust my blog to being more broad (this might be a slow-ish process), to fill it full of cute photos, places and my artwork, and keep it going as a visual diary of all the things I love and that inspire me. Anyways, here's a little few little snap's (more coming soon! ^_^)

♡ Shibuya Crossing
Headed here on our first day, 2nd January, completely jet lagged but we just had to see it, I don't think the magic of it will ever go, so many people, so many lights, it's one of my favourite places in Tokyo

Here's a daytime shot from another of my favourite spots, the famous starbucks (where quite a few of the scenes in Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation was filmed) I love just watching the people go by.

♡ Wandering round the dreamy backstreets of Ometesando..

♡ Vegan sushi options from a super cheap sushi bar in Shibuya..

I'll post more soon! & my latest artwork ventures! Adjusting might take its time - still can't believe we're here and it's been three weeks! Hope you all had lovely new years! Lots of love x x x
