Hello lovelies!

Hope your all having wonderful bank holiday weekends!
Thought I'd do the next mini post on my antics from the past year - and a further little taster of my final collection, the final fabrics (and dresses - photos coming soon!) were all based around my own fairytale storybook (as aforementioned), and mainly digitally printed and embellished lots to make them super sparkly and enchanting.

Here's a few little snaps of sample fabrics/designs :) (more soon!)

Hope you like! Don't forget to come to the degree show if your around Brighton! :)

Unicorns, Tiaras & Flower Crowns♡

So I have been a bit absent from blogging for quite a while - I've had quite a busy up and down couple of weeks (both in travelling brum-london-brighton) and also emotionally due to the super sad passing of my lovely auntie joan.

But I'm focussing on the magical wonderful moments and times, and its really kick started me into wanting to do more with every day, so I've embarked again on quite a few little sewing projects & also with some new drawings!

I also spent last weekend reunited with lovely Tatty Devine ladies working at the super sample sale, & doing some exciting work with one of my favourite prop designers. Here's a mini collage of things recent:

Top Row: Me & Emily at Tatty Devine wearing the gorgeous new Tiara's Tatty has made for the Jubilee, I totally fell in love with the turquoise (bit of a branch out from my usual pinkness) & am now the happy owner of one, second picture is it in all it's sparkle in box, Sleeping Beauty when the prince finds here (will always be one of my favourite films and this scene is just so perfect!).

Second Row: A yellow and rose headband I made from the old tatters of a crown I'd gotten at glastonbury - I filled it with lots of new flowers ready to be worn again (:, A sneaky peak of the first of my new enchanted princess style drawings & my floral headband making kit - petals, wire, various roses, all scattered on my bed.

Third Row: The result of my floral headband making session for summer, this was the one with the most beasty flowers,  I now have about 5! (more photos on instagram - rosepetaldeer), A gorgeous copy of Sleeping Beauty & one of my headbands drying out on my bunny light (: (they were on every surface at one stage).

Fourth Row: One of my favourite Tim Walker Shoots - Vogue Christmas 2004, I've spent quite a long time recently in Brighton libary looking through old vogues finding all his original shoots as pre planning for my dissertation - I ended up spending hours and hours just transfixed by too many distracting editorials - This particular one saw Tim take up pretty much half of Vogue with a Pantomime themed shoot which was so enchanting - the props are just insane - I can't even begin to imagine the work in setting it all up!, Me at the Tatty sale in my Tiara, some gorgeous pink petaled flowers.

Fifth  Row: A beautiful illustration from an old children's book about a unicorn, The lisbon sisters (a photograph in a 90's vogue talking about the film pre it coming out) & a little drawing I did of a rainbow unicorn (:

Hope your all having beautiful weekends and managed to enjoy the glimmer of sunshine I caught a bit of today! I will hopefully be posting much more regularly again now my head is a little less scrambley <3

A final note - a picture of my auntie looking super beaut at her wedding - She was such an amazing person with a truly fantastic heart, I have no doubt that she's in a wonderful place, RIP,

A little dose of pink ♡

So as it's getting more sunny, my excuse to indulge in pink and pastels in even larger amounts seems justified. I got my roots re pinked at the hairdresser which was exciting - she showed me a chart of all the options for such a range of gorgeous colours (currently stocking up off eBay to try some different ones!)

Everywhere looks so pretty - my gardens full of all different colours and shapes of flowers - Just wish it would get a little warmer so picnics and reading books in the garden could happen! <3 Tonight I'm off to a local country pub with Craig for some chilled times, but thought I'd post one of my designs from this time last year from my Flower Girl Project - I wanted it to have a super girly kaleidoscopic feel. Hope you like!

Oh & here's my newest pink candy hairs! - whipped out my Tatty Devine Horse and Carriage too <3

Have beautiful Saturdays lovely ones! Lots of love x x x x

I'm really a mermaid ♡

Completely obsessing over Wildfox at their summer collection at the moment, feeling super inspired by the idea of the sea & mermaid and sparkles and shells <3 Watching Ariel in the little mermaid and wanting to be by the sea!

Going to Falmouth tomorrow so think I'll probably do lots of drawing/designs based around the sea and a beautiful mermaid style girl. Wildfox never fails to amaze me with their lookbooks, and this one is just a whole new level of dreamy. Charlotte Free is so perfect! It's all so free & fun (: My wishlist from the collection is getting enormous! Here's an illustration I've been working on over the past week <3

& some of the images from the lookbook, pink hair and pastely mermaidy long skirts and baggy tops - too perfect for words......

Hope everyone has nice weekend and sunshine plans! Hope you like! Lots of Love x x x x

Lily in 'a shattered dolls dreamworld' & Tim Walker♡

So last night I started having a catchup with what my absolute favourite Photographer Tim Walker has been up to these past few months, and to my utter delight..discovered he is working towards both a new book and exhibition later this year!

I've been infatuated by Tim's work ever since I noticed him in Vogue, and then saw his pastel pink cats many years ago, he's so insanely talented, and is a true example of how imagination and dreams really can happen - he makes the world he fantasises come true, and all without any digital input (all his photographs are film based with no after edits).

His photographs absolutely hypnotise me, into an entrancing land of beautiful props, childhood storytelling and British eccentricity. I decided last year he is definitely going to be the subject matter of my dissertation, and really can't wait for a chance to look deeper at even more of his work, it's just a whole new level of fairytale <3

Here's an illustration I did last year based on Lily Cole & some of his photographs
'a shattered dolls dreamworld'

This is one of my absolute favourites from one of his Vogue Spreads..<3

The Beautiful Pictures book where I get many a dose of beautiful sugary inspiration <3

and the fantastic shoot where they covered an old mansion in balloons...!

A couple of other beauties (there are way too many I could have posted :))

There's been so much talk on the internet this past year about his film which he describes  'my-lemon curd-and-honey vision just got darker', which intrigues me so much, the most I've found about it is the beautiful book & trailer...which is
beautiful....

Does anyone know of anywhere it's watchable online/can be bought? I'd be so grateful! Lots of Love! x x x

Sunsets & sparkly collar's, Sofia & Marni ♡

So I mean't to blog about this ages ago, but as it was launched today thought I'd share my love for it!

Marni's H & M range is better than I ever imagined it would be, I was expecting something special, but all those polka dots, pretty sunset beach colours and then...the collars!..AMAZING!  I tried desperately to get one online this morning but they sold out by the time I got the page to finally load upsettingly!

So I had to be content with drawing one (:

I still can't stop watching the advert by the wonderful Sofia, everything she does it just a little slice of flawless dreamy beauty, and this is no exception. It just makes me want to be there and in that beautiful world <3

Here's Sofia in one of my favourite pieces from the collection, super shimmery top and trousers <3

& the beautiful commerical...

A fantastic collaboration from all parts! Just a shame it wasn't easier to get hold of one of the lovely pieces! Did any of you manage? Lots of Love! x x x

Lana Lana Lana

In between all my other little projects I've been working on this little drawing of one of my favourite ladies at the moment - the super angelical sounding Lana Del Rey.

I think it's so fantastic to have a non talent show fabricated female artist reaching the levels of recognition for the sheer amount of talent in her beautiful natural voice.

She always look's so pretty & fairytale like I couldn't not draw her! ..

Thinking of selling this in my newly coming etsy shop (working on setting it up!)...soon as a limited print. Let me know what you think!

My new fairytale drawings (Sleeping Beauty,Snow White & more..will be posted soon!) Lots of love

Welcome to my wonderland

The past few days I've been hibernating, getting inspired, using lots of glitter and hunting through lots of blogs!

Saw my wonderful friend Byng for the first time in ages the other night and we had a crafty sesh attempting to make antlers & pom pom's (neither are finished of yet!..the pom pom's ended up slightly disastrous and resembling small snails aha!) but it was heaps of fun & made me definitely want lots more crafting times!

I thought I'd do a little post a picture of what my little world looks like..(and all the drawings are magic'd!) !.. Here's my bed (sitting on which I do most of my general crafting/drawing activities!), I always have lots of boards scattered around like the one next to my bed full of photos/inspiring things I love....

I also have a continual inspiring wall section on my wardrobe full of all sorts of pretty treats (:

And my bookcase where I store all my Jewellry/assortments of beads/sparkles etc..always gets incredibly busy!

I've been working on a few little bits. I decided I want to use more flowers within my work, so began by attempting a magical rose (inspired by beauty & the beast...of course!). I'm still getting used to crayon..so drastically different from the trusty rotring pen! But I quite like the initial result..what do you think?

I'm also part through a little Sleeping Beauty project of  drawings that I'll post about soon, but for now here's a little fairy type I did for two special little ladies Iola & Ursula (:

In my determination to not let the drab month of January affect me I've been keeping up my new years resolutions of small creative projects every day! (:

The past few days I've been slightly battling with the process of making a peter pan collared shirt, so far not much has happened  except the cutting process but I'll keep you updated! Hope you all have wonderful weeks! Lots of Love
