Shimokitazawa Kawaii Goodness ♡

One of my absolute favourite Tokyo spots is the dreamy little town of Shimokitazawa, it's full of cute teeny little shops and vintage goodness, I love wondering round and finding a cute cafe and looking at all the pretty trinkets and things, here's a few initial snaps of pure cuteness♡...

Fairytale Fauna Final Collection Part 1 : Drawings ♡

Hello lovelies! - So finally I am free and able to come back to blogging! - After the most intense year with what feels like I've been living in pastel bubble world (and a total roller coaster!) my Printed Textiles degree at Brighton is finally complete!! - the Fairytale Fauna collection is all done and ready to exhibit, with the private view next week (eeek!!)

& the public show straightaway afterwards as part of The University of Brighton Degree Show (1st - 12th June at Grand Parade Building Brighton) - opposite the Royal Pavilion :)

and London show will then be beginning on the 25th at Candid Arts Angel Islington, Please do pop along :) there are so many pretty things to see in the degree show! <3 I'll pop up more info on both very soon!

I'm currently in a total state of relief/excitement/exhaustion, & feel like theres so much I could write about I'm not sure where to even start! But I'm really excited to get my pastely pink fairytale vision out there ^_^

It all began with an influx of inspiration from all things Japanese and cute, a continual love for deer and pastel colours, fairytales and otherworldliness. It's all based around my drawings and their delicacy, So think I'll begin with a mini taster of some drawings :) Hope you like!

My pastel pencil drawings have resulted being the main focus within my fabric designs (more on those later) :

My pen drawings were used as visual research to visualise the story and world I was creating and to back up other illustrations and themes in my prints, helping to strengthen the vision of the collection :)

These little creatures are enchanted forest spirits ghostly lingering amongst all the cuteness,
Enchanted Rabbit (below), is a large illustration which has just been shortlisted for The Art Republic Visual Arts Prize as part of Brighton Fringe (eeeek!), if any of you lovelies have Facebook your vote would mean so much to me (if you like him!) - you just have to like the image on the Facebook page here:

Here's a little snippet of a screen print mid process to finish the post on - I ended up doing mainly digital printing in the end as I wanted so many colours and so much detailed drawing, but when it went right (there were quite a few disastrous colour attempts) screen printing was really pretty and a fun experience carrying it through to this level :)

Anyway, more super soon lovelies! Hope you've all got nice bank holiday weekends planned! Feels so nice to be at home seeing the family chilling out for a little bit - think mine's going to be super chilled! Lots of love x x x

Candy Pop ♡

So realise I've been massively neglecting my poor little blog recently! But I've been all over the place once again, working with the absolutely lovely Jenny King Embroidery down in Brighton, & seeing friends and fam, and working on some new drawings.

A few weeks back I made a little trip to London for the launch of the wonderful Ballad Of's Candy Pop Party (I know this is super delayed to write about it - but better late than never!) Which was too much fun! - so much pastels and excitement!!

I submitted a few illustrations, sadly didn't make it in, but thinking of putting them in my shop as limited prints, what do you lovelies think..

The Candy Party was a wonderful eve full of rainbow coloured shots that tasted like skittles, jelly beans, a little beauty bar where me and my friend got big eyelashes put on, before dancing the night away to some ultimate 90's tuneage from Wu Tang to Spice Girls <3

It was like a lovely trip into the best bits of 90's and super fun! I got some wonderful goody bag treats too, some yummy vegan rose body cream & wash being my fav's - and of course the sugary sweeties and cute bits! The girls themselves were absolutely lovely too! So much fun to meet them in person after all the crazy candy tweeting that goes on! Massive congrats on such a beaut magazine yet again! Big Sparkly love!

Here's me & the girls at the party...

Hope everyone has lovely weekends planned, don't let the weather get you down! I plan on seeing some old friends and doing some dressmaking (I have so many patterns and fabric just waiting to be attacked!)

Lots of love! x

Candyland & Pastel Dreaming ♡

Ah gosh I have seriously been neglecting my little blog recently due to more travels around doing work experience & various things! I have been working on a whole load of mini little projects though so lots to blog about very shortly!

Even though the weather isn't helping I've been getting much more into summer mode! Thinking of pretty cocktails to make, and trying to update my wardrobe by changing it around a bit and customising a few pieces! I've also got even more into pastels and candyness than I was before (If this is possible).

Through clearing out some old clothes I discovered my Sky Dancer doll, did anyone else have one of these? This was probably one of my favourite ever toys as a child - so many good memories of family caravanning holidays running around setting her flying away! <3.

So the theme for these few drawings was really the rainbow, unicorns, magical childhood dreams and pastels and sparkles galore! I hope you like them (: Welcome to Candyland <3

Hope everyones got lovely weekends planned - Is anyone going to the wonderful BalladOf's CandyPop Party - yay to overload of candy times! I literally cannot wait Ballad is always full of such dreamy goodness!

A/W Fashion Dolly Mix ♡

Thought I'd share a little collage I made of my 3 favourite new A/W shows from the past few weeks in a big dolly mix

Phoebe English: Straight from Vauxhall Fashion Scout her hot hot pink outfits caught my attention with their interesting little side details and lovely candy contrasting tones. Amelia's Magazine has done a wonderful article on her show here...Phoebe English Catwalk Review by Miranda Williams..
which features an illustration I did of the show (middle image above)! Exciting times!

Orla Kiely: I've always been a huge Orla fan, and the new collection is just super dreamy. Inspired by 1920's the show was held as a 'tea dance', there's just so much that looked perfect and beautiful, from sparkly shoes to lovely peter pan collars and foxy prints! I love the tea dresses with the sheer overlay of classic pattern, and the sparkly collars (I saw there were also sparkly shoes!..too good!)

Jeremy Scott: Never fails to amaze me, and this season was no exception. It was like a trip down the rainbow into my little pony sugar coated wonderland.
So much pastel shimmery unicorn goodness going on, and the models all had big puffy pastel hair with gorgeous little punky details. I've totally fallen in love with the big red sparkly platforms too...dorothy heaven! Now I shall have to go off to watch wizard of oz and dream about a life of sparkles and glitter down the yellow brick road!♡

Hope everyone's having nice Monday's...weekend went too fast! Lots of Love x o x

Pink Cotton Candy Wonderland♡

Thought I'd share some favourite February (and all time) inspirations & things I'm forever obsessed with straight from the wonderland ...

From Top Left: Top Row: Charlotte Free & her dreamy style & ever changing pink hair (a girl after my own heart), The Virgin Suicides Photography Stills book (been trying for over 4 years to get a copy and its so rare, but sometimes catch glimses of its gorgeous contents on blogs & fall in love all over again), Pink haired Blythes..I am forever a Blythe super fan and these ladies will always come tops!..

Second Row: A sneaky peak at a very special Marie Antoinette illustration I've been working on for a very lovely lady (you'll find out more soon!), The Pastel Hair spread from Lula magazine a few years ago, I continually look at it and wish I could have every colour and float around in fairy space like the pretty girls in the pictures, Miniature Carousels! (SO dreamy!!)

Third Row: Lana Del Rey in her Vogue Spread March Vogue 2012, I've loved her since the moment I first heard her, I don't care if she's massive and tons of people hate her for silly reasons, at the end of the day I think she's beautiful inside and out and her voice is just delightful, Wild fox new collection & collaboration with Jeffrey Campbell...ballet platforms and long floaty pastel lilac skirts..my wish list is forever growing!! So perfect! , Miniature cakes and dollhouse things! I need to get a dollhouse & start collecting it's all so gorgeous!

Fourth row: Sleeping beauty, forever inspiring and my most favourite princess fairytale of all, Louis Vuitton S/S 12, Candy colours, ice cream and a fashion show where they all rode on a giant carousel...stuff of dreams! & lastly, unicorns, they are always a big feature in my imagination, and I love drawing them..fantastic excuse to always get the glitter out! They also remind me of one of my favourite 90's films 'The last unicorn'.

I managed to finally get my hair to the cotton candy shade I wanted today tooo - yay!

& Some new prints I've previously posted about are now available in my shop! ...Rose Petal Deer Shop

Hope your all having lovely weekends! Lots of Love x x x
