Cherry Blossom World Part 1 : Yoyogi, Shibuya, Daikanyama & Nakameguro ♡

Any of you who in any way follow me on instagram (much more frequent than here), will know there are few things (apart from deer and shiny glittery kawaii things of course) that I love more than Sakura, Japan in Sakura season really is something else, and never fails to lift my spirits and make me feel all kinds of magic, this year it was particularly needed after I lost my job and Tokyo can be such an overwhelming crazy harsh place at times. However when the flowers are blooming and everyone gets together for `hanami` flower picnics, and the rivers are lit up with blooms in some of my favourite neighbourhoods, its as if for a few short weeks communities and kind nature are drawn out from every corner, every park or public space is full of people happy to mingle and enjoy the sight of these magical pink flowers, its definitely one of the things I`d miss the most if I move. My flowery few weeks will need a few posts, but heres the first

Instants of the first hanami with some friends & fun in yoyogi park, yoyogi is probably one of the busiest hanami spots but always super fun,

It was kind of overcast and going dark but you get the sense of the blossoms, and drinking sake from my lunch jar as I didn't have a glass haha,

Full blooms over Shibuya...

In one of my absolute favourite places Nakameguro, the blossoms line the river and are just incredible, particularly at night when they are all a lit up with a rosey pink glow..

& my new favourite toy, little film camera `sakura cam`, its been ages since I did any 35mm film so can`t wait to see the results!

Hope your all having lovely weeks! Lots of love! x x x x

Valentines Day Snow Time ♡ ハッピーバレンタイン

Seing as it's valentines month, & pink, cute and sugary things are everywhere, expect a lot of sweet infused posts!! - Valentines day here is divided, 14th February is all about the boys with the girls giving them presents! - and then 14th March all about the girls! - with boys giving them presents, so the shops are filled with super cute candies, pinkness and big cakes for a much more prolonged period! I got Craig cute panda chocolates and a Henry Darger book ♡

We spent valentines (boys) eve in a busy Shibuya pub in the snow, after everything started to close earlier due to the thick slushy snow everywhere - apparently very rare for Tokyo! We spent it with with one of Craig's school friends we bumped into by chance! - the way home was so crazy - with upto 30+ cm of snow in parts of Meidaimae, I could kneel in it! haha, Hope you like the photos! Shibuya looked so crazy in all the snow! So so beautiful! ♡
Happy Valentines! x x x

Art Cafe Muse Shibuya ♡

New favourite discovery was this little gem, hidden away behind a load of teensy record shops lining the backstreets of Shibuya and a few floors up a little building, it was so cute & pretty! - perfect for spending a few hours with a nice drink and my sketchbook. There were cute drinks for couples especially for valentines day, swinging window seats with vines all around, fairy lights & chandeliers shining on everything and art all over the place!  all over the walls and lots of individual artists homemade wares by the door that you could buy, definitely will be going back! ♡

Osamu Watanabe in Loft ♡

Words can't describe how excited I was to discover one of my all time favourite artists had a little exhibition on the artist floor in one of my favourite Japanese stores (Loft). Loft is the most incredible stationary/ cute overload store, with an abundance of amazing arty supplies, and they are scattered all over Japan. The one in Shibuya has different artists changing all the time on it's top floor - and was where I caught my eye over some of Osamu's beautiful sweetie covered sculptures in real life

Hope everyones having lovely days! Lots of Love x x x

2014: Tokyo Adventuring begins ♡

So, on the 2nd January me and Craig changed our whole lives by moving across the world to try and fulfil creative dreams and live in our favourite city, Tokyo. It already feels like such a whirlwind, so many inspiring things and pretty places, and lovely people! We've moved into our little flat on the 11th floor of a big building in Meidaimae, a cute little area where theres lots of university's and cheap food and drink places (yet to explore properly!).  I've decided I'm going to adjust my blog to being more broad (this might be a slow-ish process), to fill it full of cute photos, places and my artwork, and keep it going as a visual diary of all the things I love and that inspire me. Anyways, here's a little few little snap's (more coming soon! ^_^)

♡ Shibuya Crossing
Headed here on our first day, 2nd January, completely jet lagged but we just had to see it, I don't think the magic of it will ever go, so many people, so many lights, it's one of my favourite places in Tokyo

Here's a daytime shot from another of my favourite spots, the famous starbucks (where quite a few of the scenes in Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation was filmed) I love just watching the people go by.

Wandering round the dreamy backstreets of Ometesando..

Vegan sushi options from a super cheap sushi bar in Shibuya..

I'll post more soon! & my latest artwork ventures! Adjusting might take its time - still can't believe we're here and it's been three weeks! Hope you all had lovely new years! Lots of love x x x

Tokyo : Part One ♡

So I'm finally back from the what was like my ultimate dreamworld !!! (sorry for lack of blogging recently) Tokyo was ahhhh-mazing, everything I ever imagined it to be and more and me & Craig were both pretty sad to be leaving! (already thinking about our next trip!)

There was so much creative inspiration and beautiful places and things, and such a magical happy feeling everywhere, everyone we met was so super friendly and helpful, and the places we discovered were continually breathtaking, Tokyo I loooove you! Here's some of my favourite bits :)

Flying through the sunset on the plane ride out...a complete sea of pastel pink and mint green <3
In the first few days we explored the area we were staying - near Tokyo station, and discovered character street, an incredible street with a shop for every cute character in Japan (AMAZING), there was a Rilakkuma, Hello Kitty, Studio Ghibli.....if you get excited by such cute things like I do it was a major overdose <3, then our first proper exploring place..Harajuku,
A maze of cute little streets, shops, very cute things and a sea of pink *wahh* <3
Here's a super cute little gallery we found which had lychee drinks and pastel pink graffiti..

One of my absolute favourite shops, which if your going to Tokyo you absolutely HAVE to visit was Kiddyland, floor upon floor of amazing adorable toys and treats....Blythe, disney, pastels, cuteness...all in one building....<3 A wall of Blythe I was faced with....(not sure how I coped)...more Blythe related posting will be following!...

One of my favourite things about Harajuku was just the wondering not sure what gems we'd find, there were shops that were something straight from the set of Virgin Suicides and just pink and pastel prettyness everywhere <3 Here's some cute snippets...

Not far down the road in Ometosando was an exhibition by one of my absolute favourites, Pip & Pop, you can't get more dreamy fairytaleland pastel than this <3 *wahhhh*...

Another incredible toy shop...so packed you could hardly move and about 7 floors high, just a mass of rainbow and sparkles <3...

A cat cafe in Shinjuku, something I'd always wanted to try, there were around 50 breeds of pedigree kitties who come and hang with you while you drink your soya latte <3, some of them were so super cuddly and being the huge cat fanatic I am it was amazing to see so many! The cute little Birman (left) was my fav, he was just so content and cute lolling about :)

Sofia Coppola is probably my main creative inspiration so visiting the New York Bar in Park Hyatt was probably one of the most exciting things we did, pretending we were in Lost in Translation looking at a super beautiful Tokyo skyline and drinking lavender gin...and then...Sofia Coppola Rose! Definitely worth a visit! If you go before sunset (around late afternoon) you don't pay to reserve a table although the drinks are pricey, the magical feeling and the enchanting view of Tokyo skyline is like nothing I've ever seen!..this was my lavender syrup gin....

Part of the view...

Part two will be coming soon! Thinking of starting another little blog with my ideas on a Tokyo guide, what do you lovelies think? Hope everyones having a wonderful week! Lots of Love x x x x
